Swim Neptune Wins Dual Meet Champs
The 27th Annual Dual Meet Champs wrapped up with Swim Neptune once again on the top of the team standings. Monday Finals at Dual Champs is one of the most fun days of the swimming year, and the culmination of two exciting days of dual meet competition. When a meet has been around for 27 years it’s a REALLY BIG deal when you break a meet record. We set three individual meet records (Sam Acheson 100 Free and Michael Shiaras 50 Back & 50 Back) and two relay records (10U Boys 200 Free: Bryce Fitzgerald, William Bansberg, Devin Esser, Michael Shiaras and 13-14 Boys 400 Free: Sam Acheson, Michael Niezgodzki, Garett Chance, Kaden Miller).
We didn’t just save all of the big swims for Monday Finals, we had all swimmers contributing during the dual meet rounds. Final scores listed:
Round 1: Swim Neptune 223, Swim Pasadena 45
Round 2: Swim Neptune 219, Arizona Aquatic Club 57
Round 3: Swim Neptune 162, Scottsdale 98
In addition to the meet records, Swim Neptune won 31 of the 60 individual events in finals and 7 of the 12 relays. Monday was an exceptionally great day with over 66% of times improved from the prelim rounds, no small feat when swimmers typically swam their best events in finals.
Overall it was a tremendous weekend with great energy and team support. Let’s carry this momentum forward to fantastic finish to the short course season!
